Simply Music is a break-through, Australian method.  At it's heart is the ability to have you playing the piano, musically, from the very first lessons.

When comparing Simply Music to other programs, it is important to understand that our stated goals are different from traditional methods.  Our foundation for achieving results, and the thrust of our efforts, are directed towards the following goals for you as a student:

• Having the ability to play a huge repertoire covering classical, contemporary, blues, jazz and accompaniment pieces
• Experiencing playing as a natural self expression
• Having a highly positive, self affirming experience with music learning
• Developing the ability to self-generate. i.e. the ability to progress independently.  This includes developing a foundation of music reading, writing, composition, improvisation, arrangement, structure and theory etc.

There are several distinctive features which separate Simply Music from any other traditional teaching method.

Playing based environment

Learning to play the piano could be compared to learning to speak a new language.  If I wanted to learn to speak French for example, I could go to a text book and try to learn to read it first.  However if I wanted to speak like a true Parisian, I would need to live in the country, immersing myself in the language, as it is spoken in the context of everyday life.  It is here on the cobblestone street, surrounded by the aroma of the patisserie...mmm... that I would get a true feel of the 'music' of the language.

So it is with Simply Music.  The reading language is placed aside temporarily so that you can immerse yourself in the pleasure of playing.  During this phase you will learn to play different styles of music, exploring and discovering your own musicality.

Multi-sensory approach

Studies have shown that when we engage multiple senses,  learning is accelerated.  Layering these paths of learning gives you all the advantages. 

Home Support Material

Simply Music provides unique support for you at home too.  Every level is backed with a Student Home Material pack. Among other things the lesson is distilled onto video which can be viewed as many times as you need.  As your teacher I also make myself available as a next line of inquiry.
