Music Room Studio

I learnt to play the piano as a child, experiencing many different teachers and methods.  Along this journey, my own passion and love for music grew and matured.

Through life's experiences, I became aware that when music is heard, and shared, it touches lives in a way that nothing else can...this is why I teach.

With Simply Music, students are taught to play in a systematic, precise and comprehensive way.  Yet simplicity is the key.  It's the simplicity that allows you to play for music's sake.  When learning flows naturally, our hearts are left to free to express...and this is how I teach.

I have taught people to play the piano for over 20 years.  The thrill and delight of seeing people of all ages experience music for themselves is an honor, and a privilege.

The main teaching instrument is a Yamaha G2 grand piano, which was bequeathed to me by an elderly student whom I had the privilege of teaching a few years ago.  I know he would be thrilled to know that many others are sharing the joy of learning on this beautiful instrument.

The music Room itself, is a specially designed and built studio, enabling students to learn in a relaxed, professional and inspiring environment. 

This wonderful facility gives me the flexibility to offer students a variety of learning choices from private lessons, to shared lessons of various sizes. The overwhelming majority of students are discovering the enormous benefits of a shared learning situation. Joining with other students in the learning process, provides a highly motivational, energetic, and productive environment. Please inquire further about other exiting aspects of shared lessons.

One of my greatest delights is teaching very young children. This is a unique opportunity for these little ones to learn the essential basics of piano playing, whilst always retaining their joy and enthusiasm for music. In these early music classes, children are taught to listen, experience and interpret music from their own perspectives - so often reversing the student/teacher roles with their insight!  I am continually drawing on my extensive experience as a professional Storyteller to awaken the inner world of music and invite young children to begin their own journey; making music a life long companion.
